What the Cover-Up Lab is

Cover-ups aren’t “just make it darker.” They’re design + strategy: ink density, skin condition, placement, and a realistic outcome. Here, you get a plan you can trust.

How it works

  1. Request an Assessment and submit clean photos (instructions below).
  2. Cover-Up Assessment (paid) to map your best path: cover / rework / fade-first.
  3. Deposit + schedule your session(s).
  4. Session day: private, intentional, and clearly guided.
  5. Healed check at 6–8 weeks to confirm outcome + touch-up needs.

Pricing

Standard
  • $150/hr
  • $200 minimum
  • Deposits required to book
Cover-up starting minimums (typical)
  • Tier 1 (light cover/small rework): $350+
  • Tier 2 (medium density/larger area): $650+
  • Tier 3 (heavy saturation/scar tissue/multiple inks): $950+
Final quote happens after your assessment (two tattoos that look “similar” can behave very differently under the skin).

Photo requirements

  • 1 photo in bright natural light
  • 1 photo in indoor light
  • 1 photo from 2–3 feet away (shows placement)
  • 1 close-up (shows ink density)
No filters. No flash glare. Honest photos = honest plan.

Healed-work touch-up policy

If you follow aftercare and attend check-in(s), touch-ups are handled within the policy window based on what your tattoo needs. If aftercare wasn’t followed or appointments were missed, touch-ups are standard rate.
